About Medfor

Established in 1971, Medfor specialises in the production of plastic sample containers for analytical and clinical use, providing a lighter, more robust and less expensive alternative to glass.

Most products are assembled in-house using a class 10,000 cleanroom, where we cap, label and package containers to provide a wide variety of combinations.

Our products are used by hospitals, tissue banks, government agencies, research companies, food and general industry throughout the UK and other EU countries.

Reliable products

Medfor is registered to ISO 13485:2016 which specifies the requirements for a quality management system where an organization needs to demonstrate its ability to provide medical devices and related services that consistently meet customer and applicable regulatory requirements. This is more suited to our products and business than ISO 9001:2015 although many elements of the two quality systems overlap. The ISO 13485:2016 standard, which requires that Medfor is subject to regular external audits, includes complete batch traceability and the careful vetting of suppliers.

All products that are intended for vitro use or in vivo use are CE marked. All in vitro products are also suitable for general laboratory use.

All our containers are made from food-grade plastics derived from virgin polymers, using components from approved suppliers.
