Medfor increases cleanroom facility by 30% Posted on 20/07/2010 |
|
Medfor has now completed an extension to its class 10,000 cleanroom facility resulting in a 30% increase in area. Production was shut down for a week in June to allow the work to take place, which also saw extensive renovations to the facility, including the addition of interlocking doors and integrated climate control.
Commenting on the work, Medfor's Sales & Marketing Directing, Rob Fisher, said, “We are delighted with the improvements to our cleanroom. The 30% increase in production area means we now have the space for larger teams which will help us to meet increased demand as the company continues to grow.”
“We have also taken the opportunity to renovate the facility to ensure we continue to meet the stringent demands of medical device directives and the requirements of our customers.”
Production staff now enjoy more pleasant working conditions and have particularly appreciated the climate control during the recent hot weather.
Medfor's cleanroom production facility is used to assemble ranges of bagged sample containers for theatre use, bagged containers for the storage of human tissue and general-purpose plastic containers for laboratory and low-volume retail use. Certificates of Conformity by email now available Posted on 20/07/2010 |
Medfor is pleased to announce that we are now sending certificates of conformity by email rather than by post, which means they will arrive more quickly and will reach the intended recipient more consistently.
Many of our customers require a certificate of conformity covering the products they have bought from us. This confirms that a given product meets the required specifications, regulations or contractual agreements. In particular, Medfor’s certificates confirm that approved suppliers were used, and that our products have been assembled and, where applicable, sterilised in accordance with the relevant directives.
Where requested, we will email the certificate of conformity to a specific address agreed with each customer. For sterile products, the email contains links to the relevant certificate of irradiation (or certificate of processing for sterilisation by EO) which can then be simply downloaded from our website.
Currently, we are only able to do this once a whole order has been despatched, although we plan to extend this service to part-despatched orders by the autumn.
If you would like to start receiving certificates of conformity, please send an email to quality@medfor.co.uk, specifying the email address within your organisation to which they should be sent.

Certificates of Conformity by email coming soon Posted on 11/12/2009 |
|
Medfor is currently working on a new way of providing certificates of conformity and irradiation. Currently these are sent in paper form to those customers who require them either with the delivery note or with the invoice.
We are developing a new process where, once an order is despatched, we will email the certificate of conformity to a specific address agreed with each customer. This email will contain links to the relevant certificates of irradiation which can then be simply downloaded from our website.
This means certificates will arrive more quickly and will reach the intended contact more consistently.
We plan to introduce this new process by February 2010 and will be contacting customers who currently receive certificates before this time to ascertain which email address they should be sent to.
If you would like to start receiving certificates when the new process begins please send an email to quality@medfor.co.uk or for further information please contact Rob Fisher on 01252 371181.

New price lists for 2009/10 Posted on 15/09/2009 |
|
Medfor has launched two new price lists for 2009/10. One lists Medfor’s range of general plastic containers for in vitro laboratory use and the other covers Medfor’s Storage Pots for Tissue Grafts.
|
New Products
The general plastic containers price list is a 25-page colour catalogue, which lists all Medfor’s standard product ranges. Highlights of the new catalogue include:
· A new range of HDPE jars, providing excellent general resistance to chemicals and with wide necks for easy filling.
· In addition to our ranges of jars, tubes, tubs and bottles, we’ve also added cups and buckets.
· The catalogue now includes our clear round PP tubs.
|
 |
Lower Prices
The catalogue also details Medfor’s new ranges of double-bagged containers, which are ideal for use in hospital theatres where the sterile transfer of the product is important. These individually bagged containers incorporate Medfor’s new bespoke packaging resulting in an improved product and lower prices.
|
Storage Pots for Human Tissue
All the single- or double-bagged containers in this range use Medfor’s new PeelClean pouches which provide excellent visibility of the containers prior to use and have a peel-back aperture, allowing the contents to be placed on a sterile theatre field in an aseptic manner.

New metal cap for PET jars and 300ml PS honey jar. Posted on 25/06/2008 |
Medfor recently introduced a new metal cap that fits on all three sizes of our PET jars and the 300ml version of our PS honey jar, our best selling container.

These items are now featured on our website, so you can request free evaluation samples or order online using our shopping basket facility.
As well as being less expensive than the cap it replaces, helping us to keep down the prices of these products, this cap has a ‘flowed in’ seal rather than a wad, providing an equal, if not better, seal and reducing the level of particles that results when assembling this type of product in our clean room facility.
To request free evaluation samples or place an order, please click one of the above links or call Julie Love on 0845 130 5133 (+44 1252 371181 from outside the UK). |
